Leslie T. Beck, CFP® MBA is the Principal and one of the original founders of Compass Wealth Management LLC.
Leslie has been trained in the Money Quotient® system of Financial Life Planning®, which focuses on the practical and emotional factors that enhance or hinder quality of life and financial satisfaction. She has also completed CTI’s Co-active Coaching program, a whole-life coaching approach that enables people to achieve success and fulfillment, and attended the Kinder Institute’s “Seven Stages of Money Maturity” life planning course.
She was also a part-time adjunct professor at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ and at Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ where she taught personal finance.
Leslie has contributed to many print and online services, including the NJ Star-Ledger’s “Get with the Plan” and “Ask the BizBrain” columns, as well as on the web at CNN Money, CNBC.com, NJ.com and the Financial Planning Association’s consumer portal. She has been quoted in national publications such as US News and World Report and Smart Money, has appeared on television’s CNBC, and can frequently be heard on the radio at NJ101.5.
Prior to establishing Compass Wealth Management LLC, Leslie was employed with the Wealth Planning Group, an office of Metropolitan Life, providing financial planning support.
From 1993 to 1997 Leslie was located in London, England initially as the Marketing Director for the European arm of Prudential Securities and subsequently as a money manager for Argent Fund Management. She was previously employed in the Treasurer’s Department of The Prudential Insurance Company of America as an Assistant Treasurer.
Leslie is an active member of the national Financial Planning Association ® (FPA), the largest membership organization for CFP® professionals in the U.S. She is a former President of the Financial Planning Association of New Jersey, serving as a Director for 6 years. She was also the 2013 Chair of the Alliance Forum, an organization of the 12 largest chapters in the FPA. In 2015 she received the Heart of Financial Planning award from FPA for her work on behalf of the financial planning profession.
